DESCRIPTION:The 45th annual event will run from noon-7 p.m. Aug. 17 and feature music\, handcrafts\, food\, art and more at the historic Summit Community Center \n \nThe 45th annual Summit Summer Festival returns to the rural mountain community Saturday with activities from noon-7 p.m. in and outside of the Summit Community Center. \nBarbara Sobo Gast\, the festival’s community publicity coordinator\, describes the event as “a full day of old-time country fun\, crafts\, arts\, friendship and music in the small rural\, tight-knit creative community of Summit.” \nAdmission is free and all ages are welcome to the festival. Summit is located a little less than 9 miles northwest of Blodgett. \n‘Come sit on a bale of hay\, eat fresh corn\, buy a pie\, see a world of creative magic around you\, sing along\, chat it up with neighbors and friends\, take a musical adventure\, take some deep breaths and relax\,” Sobo Gast said. \nLive music and performances\, 30 craft booths\, an art exhibit\, pie and silent auctions\, food\, watermelon-eating contests for youth and adults\, and the all-ages marching band and parade are among the activities.

DESCRIPTION:  \nDouglas County Highland Games & Clan Gathering\nSaturday\, August 22\, 2026 9:00 AM\nSunday\, August 23\, 2026 5:00 PM \nLocation: The Event Center and bottom field of the beautiful Melrose Vineyards\, on Melqua Road\, Roseburg (Melrose)\, Oregon.\nMusical performers will be The AML Trio\, and the Eugene Highlanders bagpipe band. \nThere will be fantastic food & vendor booths\, the clan tents\, and the Oregon State Heavy Athletics Championship taking place all weekend!\nDue to the nature of progression\, a set schedule for the athletics is not possible for each athletic event. They begin at 9:00 AM and will continue until finished. Caber is always the last event per class. \nThe Sheaf Toss will take place in the clan village throughout the day\, both days\, for the clans\, vendors\, & shoppers to enjoy.\nThe athletics competition will have the usual 2 events going at same time (i.e. weight over bar and stone toss\, etc.) all day\, both days.\nThere will be a spectator area to view the athletics field with up close viewing of all ongoing competitions. \nTickets will be available at admissions only:\n$15.00 Adults\, $12.00 seniors\, and $10.00 kids (5-12) kids under 5 free\nFamily pass $40.00 (2 adults & 3 children\, ages 5-12)\nNO outside alcohol will be permitted on the grounds of Melrose Vineyard 885 Melqua Rd Roseburg\, Oregon United States
