In honor of the great House of Durin, this cake is an ode to descendants of Durin; such as Thorin Oakenshield from The Hobbit and Gimli from eh fellowship of the Ring. The house of Durin was the founders of the Mines of Moria, or simply Moria; an underground kingdom beneath the Misty Mountains. Mush like the precious gems they uncovered, this cake is just that… a GEM. It is a deeply rich chocolate cake made with dark chocolate and cocoa with a creamy filling of toasted pecans and coconut.
